The Fair City Singers is an independent and highly successful choir for 9 to 18 year olds living throughout Perthshire, Scotland. The choir is well renowned across the central belt of Scotland and recognised locally for its strong musical tradition and high-performance standards.

In 2011, Marjory Watson took over from Marion Neilson as Musical Director and runs the choir every Tuesday evening with her husband, Stuart Watson, as the piano accompaniment.

Under her direction, the choir has continued to develop musically and has been involved in many exciting opportunities from performing throughout the UK and overseas, to appearing on both TV and radio.

The choir often performs locally and hosts an annual Christmas Concert at Scone Palace, a cherished concert for many. The choir has also performed in many esteemed UK venues including the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow; The Usher Hall, Edinburgh; St Magnus Cathedral, Orkney, and St Pauls Cathedral, London.

The Fair City Singers have also undertaken many successful tours throughout the UK and abroad. 2013 saw the choir visit London, touring famous attractions such as the London Eye and Harry Potter World, whilst in 2015 a tour to Paris included a trip to Disneyland and visits to the Eiffel Tower and Montmartre.

In 2017 the choir toured North to Orkney, exploring the Scottish Island and performing in many beautiful locations such as the Italian Chapel. The choir’s most recent tour took them to Barcelona where fun in the sun was again balanced with performances in some of Barcelona’s finest venues including the Cathedral of Gerona.

The choir has suffered a loss in the intake of new members following the COVID-19 Pandemic, and is actively looking for new members from 9-18 years old to join the choir in the hopes of continuing what has been to many an amazing opportunity to develop friendships, enjoy music, and become a passionate member of a fantastic choir.
